Joint event i-HD – EMIF: Realising the Value from Health Data

On September 21-22, the project coordinator Lynkeus will be attending the Annual Conference “Realising the Value from Health Data for Improving Care and Research”, jointly organised by the European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i~HD) – a not-for-profit European institute committed to guide and catalyse the quality, interoperability and trustworthy uses of health data – and EMIF – an IMI funded project developing a technology and governance framework for the identification, assessment and (re)use of data for health research. The event will be hosted by the Healthcare Research Institute of Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, Madrid.

The conference will include, as keynote speakers, representatives of the Spanish Ministry, European Commission, patient associations, health insurers, policymakers, clinical research and pharma industry.

The agenda (PDF downloadable here) will focus on presentations and panel discussions on how hospitals are successfully reusing patient data as Learning Health Systems to improve their data quality, progressing towards value-based health care (Towards value based outcomes based care,Towards Learning Health Hospitals and Towards better health data sessions, day 1). Particular attention will be given to patients’ expectations and perspectives on the use of their health data for research (Patient perspectives on health data session, day1).

Besides, the conference will also showcase the state of the art of the big data healthcare research applications, presenting latest findings in clinical research using large-scale data (Research Use Cases – what have we learned?New opportunities for scaling up big data research and Data Harmonisation & Novel Data Reuse sessions, day2).
