Digital Day 2018

The Project Coordinator, Edwin Morley-Fletcher, will be taking part in the Digital Day 2018, taking place in Brussels, at Square – Brussels Meeting Centre, on 10th April 2018, organised by the European Commission under the auspices of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Following the success of the first Digital Day organised in Rome in March 2017, the one-day event will bring together high-level stakeholders in the fields of digital technology and telecommunication, in order to reach joint commitments between the European Commission, the Member States and stakeholders to address the challenges related to digital development, working together to make the most of digital innovation and employ it to improve the life of Europeans.

Digital Day 2018 logoDigital Day 2018 will aim to reach joint commitments related to the digital future of Europe in order to encourage investment in European digital technologies and infrastructures. A digitally strong EU will contribute to a competitive and socially secure society, better public services and security. Main topics of this year edition will be artificial intelligence, blockchain and health.

To achieve these goals, Digital Day 2018 will present sessions on the following priorities:

  • EU Artificial Intelligence Initiative
  • Digital transformation of industry and society
  • EU digital investments
  • Digital personalized healthcare
  • Public blockchain infrastructure

The event will also follow-up on the agreements reached during Digital Day 2017 in Rome. Last year’s event concluded agreements and actions related to High-Performance Computing (HPC)digital transformation of jobs and skillsdigitisation of industry, and connected automated mobility.
