Is blockchain and healthcare a possible and desirable connubium? This is the issue the event “Blockchain in sanità” (“Blockchain in Healthcare”, Rome, 12 November 2018) will try to address with the help of representatives of citizens’ associations, academia and industry active in the field. The event is organised by McCANN HEALTH ITALIA with the support of Istituto Superiore di Sanità (the Italian public institution representing the leading technical-scientific body of the Italian National Health Service), Cittadinanzattiva ( a no profit organisation active in the promotion of civic participation and the protection of citizens’ rights in Italy and in Europe) and Wired Italy.

The program will span through the citizens’ urgency for transparency, security and efficiency of the healthcare system and the management of medical data, an introduction to the technology, the use of personal data in public healthcare, and the use of blockchain il life sciences and clinical research, with a presentation of two major use cases in EU and US, MHMD – presented by Mirko De Maldé (Lynkeus) on behalf of the Project Coordinator – and MedRec.

The event will be held at Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Viale Regina Elena 299, Roma). Participation is free upon registration.
