The MyData conference is the flagship event of the MyData movement, a registered non-profit association and a global network with the mission to empower individuals by improving their right to self-determination regarding their personal data. This human-centric paradigm is striving for a fair, sustainable, and prosperous digital society, where the sharing of personal data is based on trust, with balanced relationships between individuals and organisations. The conference is a place for accelerating global change towards a human-centric approach to personal data and attracts some 800-1000 people from around the world from business, legal, tech and society sectors.
MyData 2019 will be organised on 25-27 September 2019 in Wanha Satama in central Helsinki, as an associated event of Finland’s EU Presidency. The conference provides 2+1 days of interactive sessions, networking opportunities and inspirations that shall contribute to rebuilding trust and creating a more transparent and prosperous digital society.

MHMD will take part in the conference within the HEALTH track, tackling the myriad of issues related to highly sensitive health data in its various forms from clinical trial data and medical records to wellness data from wearables and mobile apps. Among various panels, representatives of Lynkeus and University of Transilvania Din Brasov will be part of “Keeping control and minimizing risk in secondary usage of health data” (DAY 1, 17:00 – 18:15), moderated by Nicolo Zingales, Associate Professor in Law and Technology at Leeds University.
